"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words." Romans 8:26
Suffering silences,
feelings choke words.
Only sighs speak.
Sighs,
welling up from soul's darkness
Speak,
spirit to spirit
without words, nor voice.
Suffering steals words
Sighs confessing helplessness
Sighs expressing connectedness
Spirit speak
with my sighs,speak.
Say something...
of comfort,
for healing,
about peace,
for I have no words...
only sighs
Suffering silences, sighs speak
Hello Kris,
ReplyDeleteI found you through a Google Alert for Gundersen Lutheran, but actually I believe it was a divine gift. Not sure if you remember me, but I have fond memories of you. I am so sorry to read of your brother's death. I am grieving too--my mom's funeral was last Friday. My dad died in 2001, my brother (suddenly, unexpectedly at age 49) in 2003, and now mom. So the three people closest to me in my family are gone. There's comfort in believing that mom is with dad and Dale, and I don't believe heaven is far away. I'm holding space for that. So thanks for the work you're doing, and for popping up in my life today. God bless. Marna Holley
Somehow it seems as though the deep sighs of grief, cleanse the grief from my body. I embrace the sighs.
